Agents

Use specialized agents and visible subtasks.

Agents describe specialized behavior. A primary agent handles the conversation; subagents can be called through the task tool for focused work. NextOS tracks subtask state as pending, running, completed, failed, or stale. The desktop workspace can show task titles, goals, tools used, files touched, model choice, permissions, and handoff summaries. Give subagents narrow responsibilities and narrower permissions than the primary agent.
