Modes

Choose the level of agency for the task.

Modes describe how much freedom the agent should have. Use ask mode for questions, plan mode for unclear or risky work, build mode for approved implementation, and review mode for bug finding. Start conservatively in unfamiliar repositories. Modes do not replace permission rules; sensitive actions should still ask.
