Understand local, remote, and provider traffic.

NextOS is local-first, not offline-only. It may talk to model providers, MCP servers, share services, Git hosts, or local API clients depending on configuration. When debugging network problems, identify whether the failing layer is provider, MCP, local server, share, or repository service. Store secrets in environment-backed config, not prompts.
