NextOS Zen

Use a curated provider path when you want fewer model decisions.

NextOS Zen is the curated provider path for users who want to start without manually comparing every model provider. It is designed to make the first setup calmer: connect, choose a recommended model, and begin work.

When to use Zen

Use Zen when:

  • You are new to model configuration.
  • You want a tested default before tuning providers.
  • You prefer one account flow over multiple API keys.
  • You want desktop startup to have a predictable model route.

Connect

Open the provider settings or run the provider command in the TUI. Choose NextOS/Zen when it is available, authenticate, and return to the workspace.

Model choice

Even with Zen, model choice still matters. Use stronger reasoning models for architecture, debugging, and large refactors. Use faster models for small edits, summaries, and command generation.
